Computational atlases of cardiac anatomy

Motivation

The comparison of the 3D shape of an object can efficiently be done through the decomposition into “modes of variation” through the application of techniques of dimensionality reduction, like the principal component analysis.

Our approach

CMIB adopts and further develops the technology to build statistical shape models. We investigate the definition of an optimal codification of shape in order to identify differences between classes.
