In-silico experimentation

Motivation

Computational models are an in-silico workbench to evaluate the impact of external interventions (treatments) or internal changes (disease progression) with respect to a baseline condition. Given a clinical problem or research question, models improve our understanding of the relative importance of different factors through sensitivity and uncertainty analysis.

Our approach

CMIB develops the methodology to conduct both personalised (with specific patient characteristics) or poblational (covering a range of physiological variation) studies. Our interest focuses on the electro-mechanical function of the heart.
